Zak Parish and Tim Elek talk about some breakdown shots from the Infiltrator Unreal Engine 4 tech demo. The complexity of the effects in the world is amazing- for example bullet casings are being emitted from the guns, which are then fully lit and emit their own smoke in real time as they fall..!
I would seriously love to work in this engine!
Thanks to Polygon for showing me this video.
This real-time character demo from Activision that was shown at GDC 2013 is scarily realistic! The skin texture and sub surface scattering and lighting are incredible and the animation is very nice as well. Its just a shame about the teeth, as they really stand out to me.
There is a breakdown of some of the techniques used in Jorge Jimenez’s blog.
Follwing THAT amazing E3 tech demo from Square Enix back in June here is them using Maya to edit things in the engine in real-time! It would be every 3D artist’s dream to work using this engine!
This tech demo showing off the Cintiq 24HD and Mudbox would just be mind blowing to work on! Everything would be so easy to make! Now just need to save up a few grand to buy one..
Oh my, that is one very tasty tech demo from Square Enix! I just hope next-gen consoles will be able to handle all of that!
