Sunset Overdrive First Look Gameplay Video

Wow! My mind has totally been blown by this gameplay video of Insomniac’s Sunset Overdrive! The trailer they showed at last year’s E3 was just a 3D video of how the game might look but you always know that the game will never look as good as that. But this game does look as good as the video! It looks like a perfect mix between the craziness of Dead Rising and Left4Dead mixed in with wall running and jumping like Titanfall and beautifully stylised graphics reminiscent of the recent Plants Vs Zombies Garden Warfare game. Now that is an Xbox exclusive title I can’t wait to play!

Unreal Engine 4 Released!

unrealengine4

Epic has released the amazing Unreal Engine 4 so you can now download it today and harness the amazing power of the engine and enjoy the fun I get to have every day using it on Fable Legends! 🙂

It costs $20 a month which includes the full engine, not the restricted version that was previously available in UDK from UE3, and full support which is very good value if you consider the price of most art/graphics programs these days!

Check out their website and join in the fun!

Batman Arkham Knight- Father To Son Trailer

I want to know who made this trailer as it was stunning! More work from Blur maybe? Obviously the game won’t look this good but I’m sure Rocksteady will do a great job and it will be just as brilliant as Arkham Asylum and City. I can’t wait and I’ve just pre-ordered! =)

Rustclad Anniversary Trailer

I posted about the upcoming game Rustclad a year ago as it is an interesting take on the development process of a game. Everything in the game is physically made/sculpted using traditional techniques. Then these models are scanned into a computer and placed into the game engine to create the world.

The game looks like it is coming on well and I look forward to seeing the final thing.

Check out the Rustclad website for more information.

Cube: A Video About Video Game Graphics

I really enjoyed this abstract homage to the development of video game graphics using just a simple cube. There were some great references in there from the original cube of Pong, the iconic Mario ‘?’ box and Fez, as well as some of my favourite games such as Unfinished Swan.

The Most Entertaining Walk-Cycle Animation Ever!

This walk-cycle animation is pretty amazing as it keeps you glued to the screen throughout most of it! There are some pretty awesome VFX used in it and I can’t even begin to imagine how some of it was done- unless they had some pretty amazing scripts.
